Firmino stars as Liverpool forwards look dominant in win vs. Hoffenheim

Liverpool 4-2 Hoffenheim (6-3 on aggregate): Reds storm into Champions League group stages as Emre Can double helps see off Bundesliga opponent- as it happened

    Liverpool are into the Champions League group stage with Chelsea, Manchester City, United and Totteham
    Emre Can opened the scoring at Anfield with a deflected effort in the 10th minute for the home side
    Mo Salah popped up to tuck home a second on the rebound, before Can grabbed his second of the evening
    Mark Uth, who scored in the first leg, did the same again for Hoffenheim to give them a glimmer of hope
    However, Roberto Firmino slid home a fourth in the second half after being set up by Jordan Henderson
    Sandro Wagner finished the scoring just over 10 minutes from time for the visitors, but Liverpool progress

Firmino was magnificent all night and when his raking pass from deep played in Mane, the Liverpool forward checked inside and released Can with a backheel.The German's shot was measured but went into the net off centre half Kevin Vogt. Lucky? Yes. But also fully deserved.

Hoffenheim were not coping and Liverpool threatened to overwhelm them. When they are on their game, they can do that to any team, never mind one as defensively poor as this German side.
