Arsenal travelled to Stamford Bridge on Saturday in a game that they needed to win to stay in touch with Chelsea. The Gunners, however, were thoroughly outclassed by a vigorous, classy and professional Chelsea team.
In fairness, the first goal for Chelsea was scarcely contentious, as Marcus Alonso appeared to clatter into Bellerin, resulting in the Spaniard being superseded. Outside of that goal, Chelsea assuredly dominated an Arsenal side that looked devoid of confidence and incredibly sloppy.
Olivier Giroud did get a consolation goal at the terminus but that didn’t cover up a performance that has probably cost Arsenal the designation, once again.
