Kristoff’s UAE Team Emirates team were far through the closing kilometres, largely leaving Kristoff to his own devices as the LottoNL-Jumbo, Katusha-Alpecin and Quick-Step Floors all trying to take position.
In the samw it was Mitchelton-Scott who led put Caleb Ewan into a good position with 300m, the new kid on block and the young Australian crouching low over his bike to open the sprint.
But Ewan seemed to fade off as the line approached, leaving Kristoff to move past on the left, taking his second victory of the year as Ewan was edged out of second by Andrea Guardini.

Cycling Weekly News  and How it Happened
Surprisinly, the opening stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour was full of  action even before the flag had even dropped, with Mark Cavendish (Dimension Data) crashing in the neutral zone and falling on the shoulder that he broke at the 2017 Tour de France.

Cavendish remounted his bike, but was clearly in pain as he abandoned and climbed into the team car just five kilometres after the official start of the race. Dimension Data later announced that he had suffered concussion and whiplash in the crash, with race organizers blaming the crash on automatic sensors on an official car, causing it to brake which led to a ripple effect through the bunch.
cycling weekly news
With Cavendish out of the race, a five rider break formed early on, consisting of Toms Skujins (Trek-Segafredo) Damiano Caruso (BMC Racing), Charles Planet (Novo-Nordisk), Vincenze Albanese (Bardiani CSF), and Nikolay Trusov (Gazprom-Rusvelo).

That fivesome enjoyed a maximum lead of around three minutes on the 189km stage which was largely run along an out-and-back route through desert scenery.

With 160km of the route being run on straight roads, the break was almost constantly within sight of the peloton making the chase easy to judge as a number of teams shared the work on the front of the peloton.
Cycling Weekly News
One by one the breakaway riders dropped away, with Skujins the first to drops back to the peloton, followed by Albanese and Trusov after Caruso attacked with Planet with 27km remaining.
Cycling Weekly News
Caruso did the lion’s share of the work with Planet sitting in his wheel, before losing patience with his breakaway companion and going solo with 20km to go, still enjoying a lead of around 1-20.
The gap quickly dropped and Caruso was caught with 13.5km remaining the pace going up in the peloton, leaving it up to the sprinters’ teams to control the race on the run towards the line.
Cycling Weekly News
Notably the real action kicked off with around five kilometres remaining as the lead-out trains began to form with Katusha-Alpecin lined out on the right-hand soide of the road battling for dominance with LottoNL-Jumbo and Quick-Step Floors on the left side.

The increase in speed from LottoNL-Jumbo saw them win that battle as the race was lined out with 2.5km to go as Katusha were forced back into the centre of the bunch to regroup.
Morever, Lotto seemed to have gone too hard too early, leaving Quick-Step and Mitchelton-Scott to set the pace under the flamme rouge.
cycling weekly news
The Australian team proved the strongest, putting Ewan into a strong position to sprint for the line. But it was Kristoff who proved the stronger, emerging from the wheels to surge past Ewan, who was also edged out of second place by Andrea Guardini.

Reason For The Clash

It was automatic sensors on the race director’s car that caused it to brake suddenly, causing the crash of  Mark Cavendish (Dimension Data), who abandoned stage one with concussion said Abu Dhabi Tour organisers.
Giro d’Italia organiser RCS Sport runs the Emirates race and for 2018, uses Mercedes cars for official vehicles. The incident occurred in the neutral zone at the start of stage one which we had brought to you  cycling weekly news.

As it was hapening, avendish was one of four riders to crash, returning to his bike before abandoning at kilometre five.

“They [the riders] were near by car, and the car has those sensors that caused it to brake. And it braked,” course director Stefano Allocchio said after the stage have been concluded.

“Unfortunately, it’s one of these things. Tonight we will talk to a mechanics to make sure they are deactivated. We don’t want to risk this happening again.”

Allocchio, who sits shotgun with an official driver at the wheel, said it was the first time such a thing has happened in a race with organiser RCS Sport. The organiser will visit Cavendish and Dimension Data tonight to talk about the incident.
After the incident riders where spread out and others passed on both sides of the silver Mercedes E300 EMC when it slowed, but Cavendish and Team Sky rider Leonardo Basso were one of the riders brought down behind the car.

Messi vs neymar vs cristiano records 2017-18 :- Records and Statistics

Ronaldo and Messi have been clashing for the past 6 to 7 years for singular titles as well as helping their club and national teams for honours, and now it is messi vs neymar vs cristiano records. In any case, the million dollar question is who is better Ronaldo or Messi ? That is an inquiries which isolate football fans of which i am a witness, influencing them to contend with companions and exceptionally online games sites remarks boxes.

messi vs neymar vs cristiano records

In this post we will be taking a look at the records and season so far with regards to messi vs ronaldo. I will say both are incredible, Messi is better at working up front bringing his team mates into play and can find that executioner pass which can part even the water tight defenders. On the other hand Cristiano Ronaldo who is more athletic, make it solo, keeps running on the wings can score all sort of goals.

Ronaldo is a superior expert, he had ability however he improved it even with his devotion to enhance which we have been seeing quite a long time. Messi then again has a characteristic endowment of adjust and control over the football, he can turn and contort quicken with the ball at his feet superior to anybody. So before we choose who is a superior player we investigate the over all record of the two players beginning with the record-breaking objective and amusement insights. You can do so in the comment box, messi vs ronaldo
messi vs ronaldo
n comparing messi vs ronaldo we you now have the master plan, Messi is two year more youthful than Cristiano Ronaldo and he has accomplished everything a football can dream of and in 2014 world competition, he was inches away winning a World Cup for his local Argentina side as he guided them to the last, however it was Germany who in the end won it yet Messi ran home with the Golden Ball (best player in world cup).
ALL TIME STATS
messi vs ronaldo
More champions League titles, more FIFA player of the year grants, more objectives, more helps and broke all enormous scoring records truly do improve Messi a player than Ronaldo. It simpler to judge them since they are playing in a similar period dissimilar to past enormous football competition which was Maradona versus Pele.

Personaly I think in comparing messi vs ronaldo, Ronaldo is marginally preferred player over Messi in light of the fact that he is more of athlete than a team player of which Balon D'or is an individual award. Ronaldo also is a mind boggling player and he is in the exclusive class ever extraordinary footballers regardless he has couple of years left at the very pinnacle of his profession and things may change and we may take a gander at them contrastingly when they hang up there boots. In any case, so far Ronaldo shades it for me against Messi.

Kylian Mbappe scored on his debut for Paris St-Germain in win at Metz

Kylian Mbappe scored on his debut for Paris St-Germain in win at Metz

Kylian Mbappe scored on his debut for Paris St-Germain in win at Metz

Even if it was not always the a fluent performance and the full-time score was flattering, the potential that the Parisian side boast is frightening

The 18-year-old - who will cost PSG 180m euros (£165.7m) when he makes his loan move from Monaco permanent next summer - impressed throughout alongside the world's most expensive player Neymar.
Kylian Mbappe scored on his debut for Paris St-Germain as the Ligue 1 leaders maintained their perfect start to the season with a 5-1 win at Metz.
But bottom-of-the-table Metz were holding their own at 1-1 until former Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto was questionably sent off for fouling Mbappe.

That was the turning point as Mbappe then drilled home from 20 yards to put Unai Emery's side back ahead.

Neymar, Edinson Cavani's second of the game and a tap-in for substitute Lucas added some gloss to the eventual scoreline.

The defeat leaves Metz without a point this season, while champions Monaco have the chance to draw level with PSG at the top when they travel to Nice on Saturday.

A nice problem to have

When record goalscorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic left PSG for Manchester United last year after a record breaking scoring of 156 goals in 180 games, fans of the club may have wondered where the goals were going to emanate from.

That is not a quandary a year on. With Neymar - a £200m signing from Barcelona - joining Mbappe and Julian Draxler behind Cavani, and Lucas, Angel di Maria, Dani Alves, Hatem Ben Arfa, Marco Verratti and Javier Pastore not even in the staring XI, Emery is not short of options.

Mbappe ended last season in electric form for Monaco and scored his first goal for France during the international break, becoming the country's youngest goalscorer in 54 years.

Edinson Cavani's place may be under threat but the Uruguayan has already scored seven times this season
His PSG vocation commenced in homogeneous fashion. He could have opened the scoring when Cavani rounded Metz goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima, with the ball running into his path, but eschewed any conflict by sanctioning the Uruguayan to score.

He then distributed a wondrous cross from the left with the outside of his right foot which Cavani should have buried, afore former Newcastle striker Emmanuel Riviere headed in after some poor bulwarking.

Assou-Ekotto can count himself astronomically ill-starred to optically discern red for a sliding tackle on Mbappe which cleanly won the ball, and his departure did for Metz. Mbappe hammered in a low shot from the edge of the area when his own ball forward was not dealt with, and the Metz defence then backed away from Neymar who curled in his fourth goal in four games from 25 yards.

Scruffy goals from Cavani and Lucas were integrated as the Metz defence tired. Celtic are the next team to face Mbappe, Neymar and co when they peregrinate to Glasgow on Tuesday night.

5 things we learnt as Super Eagles close in on 2018 World Cup ticket after beating Cameroon 4 : 0 in uyo

5 things we learnt as Super Eagles close in on 2018 World Cup ticket after beating Cameroon 4 : 0 in uyo

On Friday evening, Nigeria moved a step close towards picking the sole ticket from Group B of the Africa qualifying zone, by defeating Cameroon 4-0.

Odion Ighalo and John Mikel Obi gave the Super Eagles a two-goal lead in the first half, before Victor Moses and Kelechi Iheanacho added more goals after the break.

Here are the five things we learnt from the game:-

1. Your captain, Mikel Obi Back And Better
It was easy to see what the team missed when Mikel Obi was not in the side. The prescient passing, the elegant movement and that cutting edge. The Tianjin TEDA midfielder was involved in the first two goals, setting up Odion Ighalo for the first and scoring the second himself.

2. The ‘returnees’ bring back the spark
Not just Mikel Obi. Ighalo and Victor Moses, who were returning to the squad after missing the game against South Africa, sprinkled some stardust. Ighalo was a menacing presence for the Cameroonian defenders, who struggled to match his power and pace. Moses rampaged down the wings, got himself a goal and a standing ovation from the grateful Uyo crowd.

3. Rohr’s fine record Ever

The victory means that Gernot Rohr has only lost one game in charge of Nigeria. And that was the miserable showing against the Bafana Bafana. Not only were Nigerian fans satisfied wit three points, they were gushing about the remarkable quality of football on display, although the African champions didn’t offer much.

4. Super Eagles Can Still Win in Uyo
So maybe we can bury this talk of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium being a cursed ground for the national team. At the end of the day, results are a product of effort. And Friday’s performance was outstanding.

5. One point in Yaounde Would be Enough
Nigeria remain top of Group B with 9 points, seven more than the Indomitable Lions, who they travel to Yaounde to face in the reverse leg on Monday. If the Eagles can come back with one point, it would be a good result and their place in Russia would be virtually assured.

Five Goals in two Champions League matches:- Controversial Ronaldo made it Hundred in champions league

Five Goals in two Champions League matches:- Controversial Ronaldo made it Hundred in champions league

A true Character of hard work, a centurion. Five goals in two champions league games and the first man to reach 100th goals in champions league.

The Real Madrid superstar scored five of his team's six goals in the quarter-final tie against Bayern Munich, moving him to a century of goals
Cristiano Ronaldo continued to rack up the records as his hat-trick against Bayern Munich saw him become the first player to score 100 goals in the Champions League.

The Portugal superstar scored twice in last week's 2-1 victory over Bayern in the quarter-final first leg, which saw him move to a century of goals in European competition.
Ronaldo was on 97 in Europe's premier competition heading into the second leg and opened his account for the evening in the 76th minute by planting a header past Manuel Neuer to cancel out Robert Lewandowski's penalty.
